The leftovers hold up well in the fridge throughout the week which means I also have super simple leftovers that everyone can reheat in the microwave on their own.

Can I make this Crockpot casserole in advance?

You can definitely make this tater tot casserole in advance if you like. I usually prepare mine for dinner in the morning and let it cook but if you want to make it for breakfast you can certainly prepare it in advance and just warm it up.

Can I add eggs to this recipe?

I usually serve it up with some scrambled eggs when I’m doing this cheesy ranch and bacon casserole for breakfast but you could also probably put them right in the mix and make it into a potato egg quiche situation!

This is a great savory breakfast recipe. The cheese, bacon, and ranch all go great with the tater tots and I love that it’s a hearty meal that keeps everyone full and going throughout the morning. Also an excellent option for brunch since it’s savory and flavorful!

Can I use a different kind of cheese?

Feel free to use whatever kind of cheese you like! If you need to swap out the cheese for a vegan alternative, go for it! Like a little kick? Try out some shredded Colby jack or pepper jack cheese.

I like the cheddar because it melts well and doesn’t get quite as stringy as a mozzarella cheese or Italian blend might. That being said, you can certainly use those types of cheese if they go over well with your family or you have a preference! The sharp white cheddar shreds from Walmart work great too!

If you are just starting out with Crockpot meals you won’t want to be stuck without some of these essentials. I like to have all of these items on hand when I’m making my favorite slow cooker meals.

You will need a slow cooker. I like to have a large one and a smaller one on hand depending on the recipe I want to make and the servings etc. I always recommend using liners for any recipe because they make cleanup a real breeze.
