How to keep silicone baking mats in tiptop-shape:

Silicone baking mats are an essential element in my kitchen – I can’t live without them! They provide a non-stick surface for baking, and can be used repetitively as long as they’re in good condition. However, over time, they can become stained and cracked.

To keep them in prime condition, always clean them immediately after use so that the debris left behind won’t harden. Begin by scrubbing them with a brush or sponge to remove any stuck-on food. If they are particularly dirty, you can also soak them in hot soapy water for a few minutes, rinse them well and dry with a towel.

To prevent staining, avoid using dark or heavily pigmented foods on your mats. If you do need to use these foods, be sure to clean the mats immediately afterwards. In addition, avoid using sharp objects on the mats, as this can cause them to crack.
