How to make tomato salad with basil:
The only thing more simple than the ingredients we’re using here is the preparation. It’s quick, easy, and the longest bit is just letting the tomatoes marinate! What good would a marinated tomato salad be without the…you know…marinating 😉
Let’s dive on in and see how great this recipe is, the longer you let it marinate the better. I like to let mine go overnight but you should give it at least an hour, keep that in mind for your preparation time!
In a medium bowl add the tomatoes, basil, shallots, and garlic.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Stir the ingredients and drizzle with olive oil, Italian dressing, and red wine vinegar.
Stir until all ingredients are covered in liquids.
Refrigerate for at least a few hours until ready to serve.
*Note the longer the tomatoes marinate, the softer the tomatoes will become. A few hours minimum, best over night.
