I love dessert recipes. I have a major sweet tooth and when I am prepping for any party or family gathering I have to include something sweet on the meal plan. Like this banana pudding dip!

That being said, I like to do the same thing with regular weekly meal plans. With easy recipes like this cannoli dip I don’t have to feel like a dessert for a weeknight dinner is out fo the question!

Here’s what you’ll need to make cannoli dip:

This recipe uses just a handful of ingredients that are really simple and easy to find in your pantry or local grocery store. We will be using cream cheese, butter, vanilla, sugar, brown sugar, and mini chocolate chips. If you were doing any baking this year, the chances are pretty high you have a lot of these things on hand already!

When it comes to deciding what to dip into this cannoli dip, you’ll have no shortage of options there either. You can use Nilla wafer cookies, pretzels, cannoli shells, pizzelles, apples, and just about anything else you can think of! This is a great recipe that goes with both salty and sweet combinations!

How to make chocolate chip dip:

In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Gradually add powdered sugar and brown sugar, beating thoroughly mixed. fold in chocolate chips.

Refrigerate or serve immediately. Refrigerate any leftovers.

See how easy that was?! It’s truly incredible how these simple ingredients come together to make such an outstanding dessert that everyone will love. If you are like me and avoiding certain things in your diet, like gluten, this is a great way to still enjoy a cannoli!

Can I make this cannoli dip in advance?

You can make this in advance. In fact, I think it gives the flavors time to meld together a bit more. I don’t think you’d have a problem making this up to a few days beforehand.

Though, in our house that’s a dangerous game because someone will likely eat half of it before the party or gathering and then I’m making a new batch anyway!

  • 1 - 8 ounce package cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
