What is the difference between zucchini and yellow squash?
Zucchini and yellow squash are both types of summer squash. Zucchini is usually green, with a mild, slightly nutty flavor and tender texture. It’s versatile, and used in dishes like ratatouille and zoodles. Yellow squash is typically yellow, slightly sweeter, and similarly tender when cooked.
It’s used in stir-fries, casseroles, and soups. Both are low in calories, rich in vitamins, and can be interchanged in recipes based on preference or appearance.
How long do you keep squash in the oven?
For perfectly baked yellow squash, preheat your oven to around 375°F to 400°F (190°C to 200°C). Slice the squash to your preferred thickness, then arrange the slices on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, season with herbs and spices, and bake for roughly 20 to 25 minutes.
Keep an eye on them, aiming for a golden color and tender texture. Thicker slices may take a bit longer, while thinner ones will cook faster.
