Turkey Taco Seasoning

Tacos make the perfect quick and easy meal. I always have meat in the freezer and taco shells in the cupboard. Plus, you can find my favorite turkey taco seasoning mix on hand at all times.

The great thing about this homemade turkey taco seasoning, besides being low cost is simple is that you can use it for more than turkey tacos.

You can use this homemade seasoning recipe on any ground meat, like beef, chicken, or pork. Taco meat doesn’t have to be boring spice them up and have fun with your food. This recipe blend is good on rice or in your favorite enchilada sauce.

Clean Taco Seasoning

It’s great to be able to make your own spices and seasonings at home. You control the ingredients and can adjust things to fit your family’s needs.

Grab a glass or plastic storage container, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika minced onion, cumin and cayenne pepper for just a bit of heat. No additives or preservatives needed.

Always keep your fresh taco seasoning mix in a cool dry place and use it within four to six months for the best flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 5 teaspoons Chili Powder
  • 5 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon minced onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

Put all the ingredients in a mason jar or plastic shaker and mix well.

Each time I use the seasoning I give the jar a good shake to make sure everything is mixed well.

 When cooking your meat use about 1 Tbsp per 1lb of meat.

Notes

We used minced onion but you can substitute with onion powder.

Increase or skip the cayenne pepper according to the spice level you prefer.
