What do I need to make turkey tacos and homemade taco seasoning?

This recipe uses ground turkey, onions, red peppers, cilantro, oregano, garlic powder, cumin, ground black pepper, romaine leaves for lettuce wraps or taco shells, tomatoes, shredded Mexican cheese, salsa, sour cream, and avocado.

This is all pretty standard taco fare. You could swap out the homemade taco seasoning for a packet. The seasonings and spices included here are for the taco seasoning so don’t feel like you need to do that part if you don’t have the time or if it’s easier to just grab a packet of seasoning.

The homemade version of the seasoning is great. It’s also great for making changes to the flavor profile. You can add more or less of what you like or don’t like. Making your own seasonings is a great way to control additives and fillers too!

My turkey tacos aren’t salty enough, what’s going on?!

I didn’t add any additional salt to this recipe so you may wish to add some. Personally I don’t notice it because I don’t like things overly salty.

That being said, if you like a more salty taste to your taco seasoning you can add some! Another option is to use garlic salt in your recipe to bump up the saltiness a bit without overdoing it.
