In a bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat until smooth using an electric mixer. Then add the eggs and all remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. Bake the cake for 40 minutes or until fully baked, cool for 10 minutes.

For the frosting, heat the butter, milk, sugar and salt until fully dissolved. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until they are melted. Spread the frosting over the cake.

Ingredients

Brownies

  • 1 ⅔ Cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ Cup Butter softened
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 Cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ Cup Milk
  • 2 ¼ Cup All purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Icing

  • 5 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 Cup Chocolate chips
  • ⅓ Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 
  1. Blend together the 1 ½ cups of butter and the 1 ⅔ cups of sugar until creamy. 
  2. Add the remaining ingredients for brownies into the mixing bowl, and beat until smooth. 
  3. Spread the brownie batter evenly into a well greased 9x13 baking dish. 
  4. Bake for 40 minutes, or until completely cooked through. 
  5. Let cool for 10 minutes. 
  6. While the cake is cooling, add the butter, milk, sugar and salt for the frosting to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir, and warm the mixture until the bitter has melted and the sugar is dissolved. Do not boil. 
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat, and add in the chocolate chips, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth. 
  8. Immediately spread the mixture over the warm cake. 
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely and the frosting to set before serving.
