What is in a Starbucks medicine ball?

Starbucks medicine ball tea uses hot water, lemonade, Teavana Jade Citrus Mint Tea, Teavana Peach Tranquility Tea, honey, and peppermint syrup.

You can get the Teavana Jade Citrus Mint Tea and the Teavana Peach Tranquility Tea with these links if you don’t have them in stores near you. I’ve had a lot of luck finding them in Target stores especially, tho Walmart does carry certain Teavana teas as well!

The peppermint syrup you can grab with this link or you can find it in more stores that sell coffee and tea. You can leave the peppermint out if you want or use a skinny version of the syrup like this one to avoid the extra sugar!

Does medicine ball tea have caffeine?

Yes. The Jade Citrus Green Tea blend does have caffeine. It’s not the most caffeinated tea that Starbucks sells, for sure, but it does still have some caffeine.

If you can’t have caffeine I would recommend finding a different tea blend to include that has a lot of citrus notes.

For those of you looking for a pretty big caffeine boost, you won’t really get that with this drink. It’s not heavily caffeinated like a coffee or black tea would be!

Tips for making the perfect copycat Starbucks drink at home:

The peppermint syrup really brings the Starbucks essence to the drink. If you don’t want to include it you don’t have too but it will really bump the flavor up a notch and take this recipe over the top.

Also, make sure to steep the tea bags for at least 5 minutes.

Steeping the tea for too short a time really impacts the overall flavor of the drink and of the tea itself. This article explains a lot of the benefits of properly steeping your tea!
