A hand pie like these cherry hand pies is basically just a pop tart. We all know what pop tarts are, right?! It’s a crust with a filling that is gooey and tasty.
In other words a hand pie is literally a serving of pie that you can eat with your hands without looking like a deranged raccoon!

How to make cherry hand pies:
This recipe is made using the air fryer. You could probably use the regular oven to do this as well. Just keep an eye on your baking time! If you have a smaller air fryer, don’t despair, you can still make these hand pies you just need to do them one or two at a time depending on how big you make them!
Roll out the pie crust and use heart shaped cookie cutters to cut out hearts.
Take a half a spoonful of cherry pie filling and place it in the middle of half of your hearts.
Place the remaining hearts on top of the Cherry topped hearts and use a fork to mend together.
Egg wash each cherry pie.
Place in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
