How to make homemade apple hand pies…the easy way!

The first thing we need to do is preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Prep your cookie sheets by spraying with non stick spray or lining with parchment.

In a little bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling! Now we can start on the pies!

Dough being rolled out.

Open the biscuits, you’ll need 8 pieces of dough and then flatten them out into about 5 inch round circles, place them on your prepped cookie sheets.

Dough being cut out into squares.

Put 2 tablespoons of pie filling onto one side of the dough circles. Remember, we need room to fold over the dough to make a half round shaped pie!

After you fold them over, press the edges to seal, use a fork or your fingers, either will work. Now use the melted butter to brush the tops so they get nice a crispy.

Sprinkle with the sugar mixture and then the pies are ready for the oven.

Bake the pies for about 20 minutes or until they are very golden brown. Bubbling at the edges is fine and totally normal. Pies should be served warm! You can easily reheat them in the toaster oven or the microwave for a few seconds if you manage to have leftovers somehow!
