Do tater tots get mushy in the slow cooker?

Tater tots do become softer in the crockpot due to the slow cooking process and the surrounding moisture from the casserole. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean they become mushy.

The tater tots will absorb some of the flavors from the casserole, becoming more tender while still maintaining their distinct shape. The overall texture will be softer than if they were fried, but they will still offer a delightful and comforting bite.
