Pretzel Turkeys for Thanksgiving

Candy Eyes: For the turkey faces.
Candy Corn: For the tail feathers.
Wax Paper: For the chocolate to set on.
How to make pretzel turkeys
Step 1: Line your kitchen counter with wax paper.
Step 2: Cut the yellow and white ends off of 12 candy corn. You will need one for each pretzel turkey. Set aside the orange candy corn pieces.
Step 4: Use the backside of a spoon to smear 1 tsp of melted chocolate in a circle on the wax paper.
Step 6: Melt ½ lb of melting chocolate and transfer to a heat-safe glass or mug. Dip pretzel rods in the chocolate, covering half of the rod.
Step 8: Place two eyes and a turkey beak on the pretzel rod. Allow to dry on wax paper. Repeat until you have finished preparing 12 pretzel turkey bodies.
Step 3: Melt ½ lb of melting chocolate according to the package instructions.
Step 5: Quickly arrange candy corn (8 candy corn pieces per chocolate circle) on top of the chocolate circle, leaving room for the pretzel rod. Repeat until you have 12 feather sets for your 12 turkeys.
Step 7: Use a butter knife to distress the chocolate so it looks turkey-like.
Step 9: Spoon 1 tsp of the remaining chocolate into the center of each feather set.
Step 10: Place the turkey body on top of the chocolate. Allow the chocolate turkey to dry completely then remove it from the wax paper.

Melting chocolate melts evenly and quickly over the stove as opposed to a possibly uneven melt when using the microwave.
