If you’ve never had a Jello pretzel salad you are missing out! This layered dessert is a classic in our family. We love to make this one for parties and especially summer/fall gatherings. It’s sweet and salty and indulgent but it’s also lighter than a lot of other desserts in terms of texture and feeling.

If you don’t think you’ll be in the mood for a cake or pie this is a fun alternative. Strawberry pretzel dessert is easy to make and you can swap out the strawberry jello for whatever flavor you like! We have always done it with strawberry but you could easily substitute in another flavor and then just match up the fruit to whatever one you choose!

Here’s what you’ll need to make this strawberry Jello layer dessert:

This recipe is made in layers. There are so many tasty flavors and textures to this dessert that it will have everyone coming back for more! If you want to make some for yourself here’s what you’ll need to grab at the store!

For the base you will need pretzels, butter, and sugar. For the filling we will use whipped topping, cream cheese, and sugar. For the topping you will need strawberry Jello, water, and some sliced strawberries and sugar! That’s it, honestly there’s not a lot of complicated ingredients (who has the time for that) and everything comes together easily to create a really pretty but also delectable dessert.

How to make strawberry pretzel dessert:

Let’s dive right in! This recipe is really simple but we will have to make it in layers so you’ll want to prep the layers and let them cool between each one.

The only part of this recipe that we’ll be baking is the crust or pretzel layer. we need to bake it to make it into a caramelized sort of crust. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 

In a bowl combine pretzels, butter, and sugar then press into a 13×9 pan

Bake for about 10 minutes, cool on wire rack

Beat whipped topping, cream cheese, and sugar together until smooth

Cool in refrigerator for about 30 minutes

Dissolve the gelatin in boiling water then add strawberries

Chill until partially set, about 20-30 minutes

Spoon over the filling

Chill 4-6 hour until fully set

Fully set dessert ready to be chilled and enjoyed.

Cut into bars or scoop out, garnish with additional whipped topping and pretzel pieces, and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Base:
  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Filling:
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Topping:
  • 2 packages strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 32 oz frozen sliced strawberries w/ sugar

Instructions
