I love making no bake recipes. You might have noticed if you have been here before…because I share them quite often. There’s just something about not having to deal with the oven but still ending up with a sweet and indulgent treat that I really enjoy.

I also really like that most no bake recipes have less cooking and clean up time involved than traditional recipes for things like cheesecake, cookies, and pie!

If you are looking for a simple and indulgent treat that is also light and fresh, this strawberry Jello pie with cool whip is the answer. It’s a layered dessert that everyone will enjoy.

You can get as creative as you like with the toppings…no one has ever complained in our house when I sit out the whipped topping and strawberries and let them top their own slices.

If you don’t feel like adding the sliced strawberries and dollops of whipped cream…you can skip it and let everyone top their own slices.

What do I need to make a strawberry jello pie?

To make my version of a strawberry jello pie with cool whip you’ll need the following ingredients. There’s nothing fancy so don’t worry. Everything can easily be grabbed at your local grocery store and for the most part, it can be kept on hand relatively simply too.

If you often wish you had an easy dessert you could whip up without much notice, this is a great one to keep in mind!

We will be using vanilla instant pudding mix, strawberry gelatin, whipped topping, a graham cracker pie crust, milk, and strawberries!

You will need relatively simple kitchen gear for this one. A whisk, a spatula, a knife for chopping and perhaps a cutting board to make life easier. Again…we’re keeping it simple here folks, nothing crazy going on.

How to make a no bake pie:

Making a strawberry jello pie with cool whip is easier than you think. Since we won’t be doing any baking and we are starting with a premade crust a lot of the work and steps are taken care of before we even start.

If you feel like making your own graham cracker crust from scratch here’s a great and simple recipe for that!

Ingredients laid out in bowl ready to begin.

In a medium bowl, mix together the vanilla instant pudding and milk – do not follow the recommended amount of milk on the package of pudding, it will be too runny!

Thaw the tub of whipped topping and stir in strawberry gelatin package.

Pudding being made.

Pour the vanilla pudding mixture into the pie crust and spread evenly.

Spread the strawberry whipped topping mixture evenly over the top of the vanilla pudding layer.

Strawberry cool whip being made.

Place in the fridge for one hour.

While the pie is chilling, cut strawberries into heart shapes. Cut a V shape into the top of the strawberry so that the stem comes out. Cut narrow slices from the top to the bottom of the strawberry. This will create the strawberry shape. You may want to trim around the top edges to shape them better.

Pudding being layered int the crust.

Remove the pie from the fridge.  With the strawberries, create a circular design around the edge of the pie. Add three strawberries to the center.

Cool whip layer being added.

Make a design around the edges of the pie with the canned whipped cream.

Pie being decorated.

Slice and enjoy!
