What do I need to make this blueberry cheesecake dip?

This recipe uses frozen blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, lemon juice, and water for the homemade pie filling. The cheesecake dip itself uses cream cheese, greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar!

How to make a homemade blueberry pie cream cheese dip:

We’re going to break this up into sections because we are making a homemade blueberry pie filling for this recipe! If you want to use a canned pie filling you can just skip those ingredients and the the first part of this recipe.

You can use whatever you like, I think the homemade pie filling makes this blueberry pie cream cheese dip all the more tasty but it’s not essential for the recipe to work out. Canned with work fine too!

For those of you like me who end up with TONS of fresh blueberries from your bushes all at once, this recipe is a good one for putting them to good use.

To make the blueberry pie filling:

Place the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.

Cook, stirring frequently, until the dry ingredients have dissolved.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until a thickened syrup has formed from the liquid and the blueberries are cooked through.

Remove from heat and cool completely to room temperature.

To make the cheesecake flavored base:

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Beat in the powdered sugar in ¼ cup increments until fully incorporated and smooth.

To serve:

Spoon the blueberry pie filling over the cheesecake flavored dip base, or mix together, then serve with graham crackers, wafers, or fresh fruit for dipping.

  • For the blueberry pie filling:
  • 2 cups frozen or fresh blueberries
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch 
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (approximately ½ a lemon)
  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 cup plain Greek Yogurt
