What is ice cream pie?

Ice cream pie ideas like these are basically ice cream in a pie shell. You can use a crust of your choosing like graham crackers or crushed Oreo’s and then it’s even easier to make pie out of ice cream.

How to make ice cream pie:

Each of these recipes is a little different, some are layered, some have toppings, etc. but the general guide for how to make ice cream pie is as follows:

You will need to make your ice cream. Usually this includes a variety of dairy products, some flavorings, and maybe some fruit. Your base will be whipped in the mixer for a bit to make sure that it’s well combined and ready to be frozen without separating. This takes the place of the churning of traditional ice cream.

Next, you will add in your flavorings and mix-ins, before pouring all of that into a pie crust and popping it into the freezer.

You can top it with more ingredients before it is frozen so that it has an extra pretty appearance if you like.

When it’s frozen solid, usually about 24 hours will do the trick, you can pull it out, let it sit at room temperature for a bit, and then slice with a sharp knife!
