Here is a list of the ingredients you will need to make my version of jello salad with cool whip. For reference, the 3-ounce jello packets are the small ones. If you are doubling the batch you can use the larger boxes as well!

You will need crushed pineapple, water, raspberry Jello, strawberry Jello, cranberry sauce, apples, and whipped topping. Most of this stuff you can keep on hand (Coolwhip can be frozen for practically forever) so that you can whip up a batch whenever you want. We almost always have a few apples hanging around that can be used for a dessert recipe and the rest of the ingredients are canned or boxed, it’s perfect.

You can! This is a great Thanksgiving or Christmas leftovers recipe. You need about 16 ounces of cranberry sauce for this cranberry jello salad so you can use leftovers or a new can, either way will work!

The good thing about this easy cranberry Jello salad is that you can make it special occasions like the holidays but you can also make some for a regular evening when you just want a sweet treat!

How to make cranberry jello salad with coolwhip:

This cranberry jello salad is simple to make, it is an excellent recipe that doesn’t take long to throw together. I love to make this recipe for the holidays, it doesn’t add a lot of stress to the meal plan and everyone loves it!

Drain the pineapple, reserving the juice

Add enough water to the juice to make 2 1/2 cups total liquid

In a medium saucepan, bring the pineapple juice mixture to a boil over high heat

Remove the pan from the heat and add the jello powder from both packets, whisking until completely dissolved

Stir in the crushed pineapple, cranberry sauce, and chopped apples until well combined

Spoon into baking cups or dessert dishes, filling most of the way

Refrigerate for at least three hours, until the jello has set

Finished cranberry jello salad in bowls for serving

Serve cold and top with whipped topping

How much does this salad make?

This recipe takes about 15 minutes to make and needs about 3 hours to chill. After that you will have about 12 servings of 1/2 cup each. It’s a nice family sized batch, you can always double it easily as well!

    1. I made this for Thanksgiving is was easy but more time consuming than I thought it would be. The cranberry sauce didn’t break down in the mixing leaving large chunks in the jello. The next time I’ll cube it before adding it to the mix. Over all a good dish. Thank you

  3. I’m concerned about apples turning brown. Is there another fruit that would go well with this combination of flavors?

    1. You could use cranberries or mandarin orange slices. I would think even pineapple would go well in this recipe. I’ve never tried it with any other fruits but I’m sure it wouldn’t taste bad with something a little different!
