I’m concerned about apples turning brown. Is there another fruit that would go well with this combination of flavors?
You could use cranberries or mandarin orange slices. I would think even pineapple would go well in this recipe. I’ve never tried it with any other fruits but I’m sure it wouldn’t taste bad with something a little different!
In the jello the apples shouldn’t brown. You could use grapes. Thanks

I am not a big Jello salad fan, but I am going to try this and experiment a bit. Maybe try it in half with small cans of cranberry sauce and pineapple. Shared to my Facebook page.

Could celery be used instead of apples?
Thanks
Brenda
Certainly, celery would work just fine. Enjoy! Thank you! – Michele
@Brenda Holtgrefe, I use pecans instead of apes and whole berry cranberry sauce
@Brenda Holtgrefe, Yes I use sliced celery coarsely chopped and it provides a nice crunchy element. Chopped pecans too.
What is the cranberry sauce in the recipe? Jellied cranberries or sauce with whole cranberries?
We used the sauce with whole berries, but you could use either based on your preference. Thanks!
I made this for Thanksgiving is was easy but more time consuming than I thought it would be. The cranberry sauce didn’t break down in the mixing leaving large chunks in the jello. The next time I’ll cube it before adding it to the mix. Over all a good dish. Thank you
