The best part about my cool whip cranberry fluff salad is that it’s quick to make. Once it’s whipped up you can put it in the fridge to chill and move on to other meal / holiday prep. If you need an easy recipe that will be great for Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, give this cranberry fluff salad a try! Kids an adults alike really seem to enjoy this one.
In a medium bowl, add the can of pineapples, ¾ of the can of oranges, and the can of cranberry sauce. Mix until well combined.
Mix in 1 cup of the marshmallows.
Mix in the whipped topping
Mix in 1 cup of the pecans.
Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Toss mixture together and garnish with remaining oranges, marshmallows, and pecans.
Can I make this fluff recipe in advance?
I would make it a little bit in advance, let’s say half a day, before I would be worried about it. These fluff recipes do not have a habit of storing very well.
It’s not a problem usually because they get eaten pretty quickly, but if they sit for longer than a day or so they will start to get kind of runny and they will lose their appealing texture.
The juices from the fruit will eventually kind of deteriorate the marshmallows and cool whip so it is best to make these kinds of fluff recipes the same day you want to eat them. As you saw, they are not hard to prepare or time consuming so it’s not a big deal to make them just a few hours before you need them.
You will of course need to give them about 2 hours to chill so don’t forget to factor that time into your preparation schedule!
