I love making homemade peanut butter cups. They’re super simple and very delicious. It’s a great recipe for having kids help in the kitchen too. There’s nothing super dangerous and they love a hands on recipe like this!

Here is what you’ll need to make homemade peanut butter cups:

We’ll be using mostly items from the pantry which means you likely have everything on hand to make these right now!

I really like when I can keep ingredients on hand for a sweet treat recipe like this, it’s nice to be able to just pull everything out and whip up a recipe!

You will need peanut butter, coconut oil, maple syrup, and chopped peanuts. We also like to use some coarse sea salt flakes for the top as well! That’s it! They’re pretty simple to make and very limited ingredients means you get to control exactly what goes in there!

These peanut butter cups are naked. They don’t have an outer chocolate coating but it’s super easy to add that as well if you’d like. Just freeze these cups and then use coating chocolate, melted, to dip them and cool!

How to make my maple peanut butter cups recipe:

Place Peanut Butter, Coconut Oil, and Maple Syrup in a saucepan. Heat everything over medium heat until melted. Whisk the mixture well until smooth.

Pour peanut butter mixture into a cupcake pans that have been lined with baking cups. 

Sprinkle chopped peanuts and sea salt on top of peanut butter. Chill for 2 hours or until firm.

Remove from fridge and sprinkle with sea salt. Store in an airtight container in the fridge or in the freezer.
