Are egg roll wrappers gluten free?

No they are not. It’s important to keep an eye on your ingredients if you have an allergy or food sensitivity.

One thing you can do to accomodate this recipe for gluten allergies is use rice wrappers like these instead of egg roll wrappers. It makes a slightly different texture for the wrapper but it does allow you to enjoy them without gluten which is nice!

There are also mixes out there which you can use to make substitutions for the egg roll wrappers but the finish can be hit or miss on these. They are worth a try when trying to make recipes gluten free but keep in mind that it won’t always be identical to the texture or finished flavor of traditional egg roll wrappers.

Kitchen essentials for tasty recipes like these:

When you head into the kitchen to make some of these great recipes you’ll want to have the best tools on hand.

I like half sheet baking pans that are quality (hello no noisy pops or sloshed cookie dough from twisting), I line my cookie sheets with silicone baking mats. These are great for all kinds of baking and not just cookies! My husband loves them for making biscuits, pizzas, and more!

Of course mixing bowls, a mixerspatula, and some whisks should be on your list if you don’t have ones that you love. I also like to have a set of cooling racks so that my recipes can properly cool before they’re scarfed down by my family!

  1. Looks delicious!! I’m gluten free and was wondering when using the rice paper rolls is assembly and cooking time the same? Thanks in advance

  2. Instructions are missing when to add cheese, you would think that would be common sense to do so but they may miss that if they just follow the directions.

    1. To pan-fry egg rolls, heat up a frying pan over medium heat with a small amount of oil. Once the oil is hot, place the egg rolls in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are crispy and golden brown. Don’t forget to flip them over carefully so they cook evenly on both sides. Enjoy!
