Be sure to make several batches of egg rolls and homemade pizza pockets to keep the freezer full for quick snacks and dinner options.
What do I need to make pizza egg rolls?
Like the name implies, these pizza rolls are made with egg roll wrappers. They’re quick and easy to wrap and cook and they are readily available in most grocery stores!
- Egg Roll Wrappers
- Pizza Sauce
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Pepperoni Slices
- Water
- Vegetable Oil (for frying)
You will need about 2 tablespoons of sauce and about 1/8 cup of cheese for each roll and as many pepperoni slices as you’d like to add. The water is for sealing the edges and the vegetable oil is for frying them up when you are doing wrapping!
We usually place all the ingredients out on the table and have fun making our own pizza rolls and then they go into the oil.
What other flavor combinations can we use?
You can make you favorite pizzas into rolls with almost no changes! Here are some flavor combinations that we like!
Meat Lovers
- Cooked bacon
- Cooked sausage
- Pepperoni
- Sauce
- Cheese
Veggie Lovers
- Sliced bell peppers
- Sliced onions
- Spinach
- Tomatoes
- Sauce
- Cheese
BBQ Chicken
- Cooked shredded chicken
- BBQ sauce
- Cheddar cheese shredded
- Diced onions (optional)
You can also make these pizza rolls with any flavor combination that you enjoy. If you have dietary restrictions you can take those into account and fill your rolls with whatever toppings and ingredients you like!
If you like your veggies soft you may want to precook them a bit. Sometimes the few seconds in the oil isn’t enough to make them very soft so precooking can help make sure that everything is done to your liking.
You want to make sure all the meat you are using is precooked as well. The meat will not have ample time to cook when placed into the oil so there’s no way for it to reach a proper internal temperature without prior cooking time!
If you need more appetizer ideas these pepperoni pinwheels are another great finger food.

Can they be frozen after being cooked?
Definitely. Thanks
We do this with taco meat, refried beans# cheese and salsa.. It’s a family favorite
Great tips. Thanks!
I ran out and got all the ingredients! Can’t wait!!! Have you made these in the air fryer? I have an aversion to frying anything in oil. 🙁
I’ve never made them in the air fryer but I assume you could try it. I’d spray them with cooking spray before hand and put them in at 375 or 400 and keep an eye on them. Roll them around a few times while cooking.
Can you air fry these?
You could definitely try it out. I’ve never made this particular recipe in the air fryer but have air fried other egg roll recipes and they come out great!
